And Just like that it all changes!!

Honnestly I knew that one day the band would leave the comfort of the car lot but had no clue it would be so FAST!

We are so happy and so excited about the new things he's bring home. And the kids love seeing the fun stuff he gets to work on.
He is using his Spanish everyday again and loving all the adventures the job has to offer.

Having him home on weekends has been so good! Ok this is the first one but it has been great!

Shopping with kids. Thing2 got new shoes and can tie them all by herself now. Looking into getting Thing1 lace ups for after school play time so he can practice and I can start leaving the house again now that we are feeling a bit better.

Looking for a bike and trying to get rid of my old one. And thing 1's bike too.

Now that the refund is here......

Isn't it funny as you get older how priorities change. Yes I did want to run right out and get a new couch. And yes I did put my couch on Craig's list. But really?!? What did I run out and go purchase right away?! Socks for the kids. They are the biggest pain to go find every morning and I keep sorting thorough laundry thinking there will magically appear enough socks to just last the day but some how that just isn't ever the case!
So out I ran and bought socks!! We have socks!! Lots of socks. And it is amazing.

The meeting

Today was thing1's meeting for his IEP.It was great to hear some of the concerns his teacher and I have both voiced were something that the teacher and he were seeing. Impulsivity seemed like the biggest thing that was getting him in trouble and the lack of that inner button to follow the rules.
It's do awesome to talk so positively about the strengths and weaknesses of you child with adults that genuinely love your kid! In a totally new and different way than you do as a parent.

They didn't once tell me to medicate him. Not once did they mention that he was just a lost cause and he'd never make it to grade level. He is progressing rapidly in reading with the extra help he has and he has dramatically improved from his adventures in the first few months of school.

He is still having meltdowns consistently about things the kids and teacher are helping him through all the time. And with the assistance he is getting he has some goals that I love set in place for him.

They are so super sweet to him and have been guided by the example of his teacher in how to help him with kindness and gentleness. It is such an unusual situation for kids that are naturally mean spirited at this age.

I am mostly so proud of thing 1 he has made amazing strides in his academics and is really getting on track. But most of all the heart that this kid has is pure gold. He is so caring and kind to everyone. His class mates really look after him. He has been one trooper to move schools and he has been so blessed to be where he is now.

We have a plan for him in place to help him continue to make huge strides in his social development and academic. But most of all he is this adorable and little man. Who I am very proud of.

Dear Diary

Yeah I will have to try and remeber that all potato recipes are not created equal. We made the sad attempt today of baking fries. To which my husband actually protested having the "king of all fry makers' as a dad. I have to agree the fries that my Father in law makes are the best EVER!

After eating good homemade fries by the band it was off to get some hats to mother and baby source.
You know these but the lower corner owl hat went to mini g. Hope it's just right:)

This winter and our being sick.

Now being sick has been the M.O. this winter and I am tired of talking about it so we are going to post about my dog being sick. I know so much more interesting. It was bad. And by bad I mean like awful. The barfing started the whole process. But what was really bad was the "Back end Explosions" she on two different occasions exploded.
It was last week sometime (January is kind of a total haze) I had gone to bed early. And all was quiet in our house and I wake to the Band apologizing profusely. I hear the urgency in his voice but I wasn't with it at all. I could hear almost every other word.
"So Sorry..... Dog.... come quick....you have to.... out of no where"
So sitting up on the side of the bed I tried to get my bearings. My nose has been clogged since October so smelling my awaiting mess was not going to happen. I walked down stairs as the cold air from my back and front doors swung open. Moobie had made a 5 inch diameter mess on the floor. And my husband was frantically trying to not barf. Evidently it was pretty bad.

Then the spasm hit him. He started a wrenching sound that could have been mistaken for a moose mating call. Nothing came up but for sure he had the look of terror in his eyes.
From my children alone he has been crapped on, yacked on, and peed on. One small whiff of what mother nature never intended to go on carpet was the end of him.
He ran out of the house.
I giggled and giggled as I cleaned up the mess. I am telling you the best recipes for carpet cleaning are available online! Within 20 mins or so he was able to re-enter the house and all was quiet again.

Well minus my out burst of giggles.
